The discovery of X-ray radiation has brought many technological advances. On the other side of the coin are possible negative health effects of X-ray radiation.

Safety note: This training covers solely X-ray radiation safety. The focus of this training is on small-scale laboratory XRF devices. We will not discuss hazards related to radioactive materials or any related topics such as accidental release measures and decontamination procedures. This training is designed to raise your safety awareness and familiarize you with relevant terms and protective measures. It will also help you identify your personal training needs. This training generally is not sufficient to undertake work activities with an XRF-device without prior knowledge and further site-specific training. This awareness training is intended to help you understand the fundamental terms and rules, as well as identify the training needs for specific activities. It is NOT sufficient to undertake any work activities in hazardous areas.
