Lone working is by definition any work performed by a person alone, out of calling distance, or out of sight of others. If working alone, there is no one to provide help in the event of an emergency. Fires and explosions, exposure to hazardous substances, falls from heights, and medical conditions such as heart attack or stroke are some examples of these emergencies.
